4.1. Methodological overview

The methodology followed in this course is oriented towards achievement of the learning objectives. It is based on the contents and that favors the development/acquisition of competences. A wide range of teaching and learning tasks are implemented.

Students are expected to participate actively in the class throughout the semester.

Classroom materials will be available via Moodle. These include a repository of the lecture notes used in class, the course syllabus, as well as other learning resources. Further information regarding the course will be provided on the first day of class.

4.2. Learning tasks

Learning tasks and activities:

1. Lecture classes (2 ECTS, 25 hours)
2. Case analysis (0,5 ECTS, 5 hours)
3. Information search and management y cooperative work (0,5 ECTS, 5 hours)
4. Oral presentations by students (2 ECTS, 20 hours)
5. Multimedia material (0,5 ECTS, 5 hours)
6. Conferences of guests profesionals and academics (0,5 ECTS, 5 hours)

CONCEPTS AND THEORETICAL BASES

- Lesson 1. Introduction to Community Psychology.

- Lesson 2. Community, Community Psychology, and social well-being.

- Lesson 5. Programs´ implementation and evaluation in Community Psychology.

SECTION II

INTERVENTION AREAS IN COMMUNITY PSYCHOLOGY

- Lessons 6 to 11: Intervention areas in Community Psychology (to discuss with the students).

SECTION III

ROL OF COMMUNITY PSYCHOLOGIST

- Lesson 12. Ethics, valoues, and roles in community interventions.

PRACTICAL ACTIVITIES

Case studies will be examined, through role-playings and any other methodology to develop the competences of the subjects and students´ abilities. Cooperative learning, assertiveness, and critical thinking is encouraged.
